The Purple Block Party • Sunday, August 28th, 2022

The inaugural Purple Block Party is being held tomorrow, Sunday, August 28th at Garfield Park. Headliners Jim Jones and Pivot Gang are worth the price of attendance alone but acts like Kali, Nia Kay, Baha Bank$, Huey B, Ron Carrol, and host Bree Specific add to the stacked musical lineup this event has to offer.

The event’s organizers have also set up a full day's worth of fun beyond artist performances. Attendees will be able to participate in activities like yoga, improv theater, games, and dance to round up the block party’s schedule.

Described as “a cultural, music and festive experience celebrating the combination of all the elements that encompasses unity throughout Chicago,” the PBP has all the ingredients to establish itself as a cornerstone summertime event in Chicago's West Side for years to come.

Organized and launched by Briahna Gatlin, CEO of Swank PR, the Purple Block Party is an extension of her legendary work in Chicago’s music scene and driven by her passion for the city, hip hop, and fostering community. At its core, the event is a celebration for and by the West Side, while still bringing all of Chicago together for a good time.
